Overview
This section describes the consultation data models. Together, they represent both the overall patient encounter with the GP practice and the structured content recorded during that consultation. The models are designed so users can analyse care at two levels: the consultation as a whole, and the individual components (sections) captured during that encounter.
| Model | Description |
|---|---|
| Consultation | A consultation represents an overall patient encounter, such as an appointment, telephone call, or clinical review. It holds the high-level context for that interaction, including who the consultation was for, when it happened, where it took place, and which healthcare users or organisations were involved. |
| Consultation Section | A consultation section represents structured part of a consultation, such as problems, history examination etc. These sections break the consultation into meaningful components and can also link through to the more detailed care records where available. |
